Therefore, we need to deal with brushless motors to achieve low-cost underwater propulsion solutions where electrical short circuits are easily avoided. If the enameled wire of the motor is not damaged, there will be no short circuit. The exposed uninsulated parts are the three welding points of the motor.
Usually, short circuits can be reliably prevented by applying resin and waiting for curing.
For motors without solder pads, wrap them directly with heat shrink tubing. Of course, you can also apply hot melt adhesive first, then cover it with a heat shrink tubing and heat seal it. Brushless motors are not easy to operate.
The casing of general motors is electroplated, which is not easily corroded. There is also stainless steel material and anodized aluminum shell, so don't worry too much. Of course, if titanium alloy is used as the shell material, it will not corrode.
Corrosion can seriously affect the performance of motors, and the corrosion rate of ball bearings is very fast, producing noise and vibration. Corrosion during bearing installation can also make disassembly and maintenance difficult. Try stainless steel bearings or ceramic bearings. Ceramic bearings can self lubricate and ceramics will not corrode. Stainless steel ceramic bearings are generally used for dynamic and static pressure, and the cage is made of stainless steel and high-performance plastic bearings, which may cause problems during high-speed operation. Of course, if you have processing ability, you can use the copper sleeve below, which will make a lot of noise in the air.
The magnetic core of the motor can also corrode, and the inner ring of the silicon steel sheet of the brushless motor will have a complete insulation resin through electrostatic spraying. To ensure a sufficiently small air gap (around 0.2), the outer ring will not be sprayed. The outer circle needs to be processed. Bearings, shafts, and iron cores can be coated with lubricants, and can also isolate water and prevent corrosion. Need constant care.
Brushless motors can be corroded, rusted, short circuited, and worn by underwater particles, so it is important to take anti-corrosion measures for brushless motors.
